This is a sample text from an original Memorial (Transition) Service I have written. Candles will be used.

Service:

Welcome children of God,

We gather in love today to pay tribute to the transition of a remarkable spirit, (name).

(Name) (lived at, worked as, was married to, was the parent of, and devoted his life to)

As we mourn the passing of (name’s) physical form that graced our lives, we also celebrate his transition to the source of creation, the Spirit of Love, Creator of Life, may the essence of _______ spirit live on in those assembled here, as a source of love and comfort. In honor of your selfless service to your family and friends, we bestow upon you, these symbols of our bountiful love and your eternal life as spirit.

(Procession of mourners bring flowers to casket.)

Spirit of Love, Creator of Life, our (brother/sister) is now with you, free from the toils of this physical world. As we lay his body to rest, we mourn the loss of his physical presence in our lives, yet we rejoice in the knowledge that his immortal spirit, lives on with you.
